The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a violent shooting incident that occurred on Avon Avenue in Newark around 5:00 PM yesterday, leaving one man dead and two others injured.
The incident has escalated concerns about violence in the neighborhood.
According to county officials, three males were shot during the incident. Two of the victims were urgently transported to University Hospital following the attack.
The third victim, who also suffered injuries, refused medical treatment at the scene.
The situation took a tragic turn this morning when one of the hospitalized men was pronounced dead at 8:41 AM.
Officials have not yet released the name of the deceased, stating that they are waiting to formally notify his family.
