In the early hours of Monday, Newark police were called to a shooting incident on North 12th Street, where gunfire erupted just before 12:45 a.m. near 159.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene, confirming reports of the incident.
Authorities found an individual who reported being targeted by a gunman.
Fortunately, the person was not struck by any gunfire, and no injuries were reported.
The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the Newark Police Department has launched a full investigation into the matter
The suspect remains at large. Police are urging anyone with information related to this early morning situation to come forward to help in apprehending the suspect.
