Saturday night in Paterson, gunfire disrupted the peace of a neighborhood, resulting in three individuals being rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital.
The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. near 275 East 16th Street, prompting a rapid response from over a dozen police officers.
Upon arrival, law enforcement quickly secured the area, setting up a perimeter around the community where they found multiple shell casings.
RLS Media has learned that among the victims, one individual sustained a severe gunshot wound to the head and is reported to be in serious condition.
Paterson police and detectives concentrated their investigation on a white vehicle located in the middle of the street, which they believe was carrying the victims when the gunman opened fire multiple times.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has been brought in to assist with the ongoing investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and are appealing to the public for any information that might help identify those responsible for the violence.
