Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects in Newark

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the suspects who robbed a victim at gunpoint on April 1, 2024.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the armed robbery incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. in the 100 block of Avon Avenue when the victim thought he was buying a car from a woman he met.

Officials said as they walked along Avon toward Jeliff Avenue, a man waiting for them instructed the victim to wait for the car at that location.

When the victim became suspicious and began to walk away, three male suspects approached him from Pilgrim Baptist Village, an apartment complex, according to officials.  PicAuthorities say that suspect #4, a male brandishing a handgun, demanded that the victim give up his personal belongings.

The suspects went through his pockets, took several items, and ran away through the apartment complex, officials stated.

Officials say suspect # 1, a Black male, was wearing a black sweatsuit with red and yellow colors.

According to officials, suspect #2, a light-skinned female, was wearing dark jeans, a black sweater, black glasses, and a grey shirt.AdSuspect #3, a Black male, was wearing all-black clothing with black and yellow Jordan sneakers. 

Authorities say suspect #4, the male pointing the weapon, was wearing a grey sweatsuit and a black ski mask.
