Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, April 7.Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said at approximately 9 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired in the area of Central Avenue and Bowers Street.
Upon arrival, officials said, officers located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds and were transported to Jersey City Medical Center.
According to officials, Freddie Posey, 25, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m.
A 30-year-old Jersey City female was treated for an injury that is not considered life-threatening, officials stated.
A third victim, a 24-year-old Jersey City male, self-transported to University Hospital in Newark for a non-life-threatening injury, officials stated.
Officials say the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter.
Authorities say no arrests have been made at this time.
