Pedestrian Crash on US-22 in Somerset County Leads to Temporary Closure

Somerset County authorities temporarily shut down a portion of US-22 late Thursday night as police and detectives investigated a pedestrian crash that left at least two people injured.AdThe incident, which occurred near 1292 US-22, close to the BP Gas Station, prompted an immediate response from police following reports of injured pedestrians.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims who had been struck by a vehicle at the location.

Early reports suggested a possible third individual might have been involved in the crash; however, this has not been confirmed as of early Friday morning.

The section of the highway where the incident took place was closed to traffic to allow investigators to work the scene safely.AdAccording to NJ101.COM's traffic department, the roadway was reopened to traffic shortly before 4:50 a.m.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains active and ongoing as officials work to determine the cause and whether any additional individuals were affected.
