The Newark Police Department is urgently seeking the public's assistance to locate 15-year-old Karla Lopez from Orange, who has been missing since Sunday, March 24. Karla was last seen leaving a restaurant on Ferry Street near Congress Street in Newark following an altercation with a family member.
Described as being 5'6" tall and weighing 160 pounds, Karla was wearing a black vest, a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and white Jordan sneakers at the time of her disappearance.
Known as a frequent runaway, she is believed to possibly frequent areas around Stuyvesant Avenue near South Orange Avenue and Bruen Avenue near Springfield Avenue in Irvington.
The Newark Police, led by Director Fragé, are reaching out to the community for any information that might lead to Karla's safe return.The public is encouraged to contribute any knowledge regarding Karla Lopez's current whereabouts by contacting the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
The police reassure that all tips provided through the Crime Stoppers line are kept confidential and informants can remain anonymous.
The Newark Police emphasize the importance of community assistance in these situations and hope for Karla's safe and swift return.
