Newark and North Jersey region residents are experiencing a mild start to April, with temperatures at 52 degrees early in the morning.True to the saying, "April showers bring May flowers," the area is set for a wet start to the month.
As of 4:30 a.m., conditions remain dry, but rain is expected to move in shortly after sunrise. A significant area of moisture is making its way into the region, promising a brief period of rainfall that is forecasted to clear up by the afternoon.
Today, The National Weather Service said there is a 50 percent chance of rain, primarily occurring between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a high near 53 degrees under cloudy skies and a northeast wind blowing at 5 to 7 mph.
NWS forecasters say the night will see a likelihood of rain returning after 7 p.m. with mostly cloudy conditions and a low of around 46 degrees.
Despite the damp weather, residents can still enjoy the day and welcome the arrival of April. Happy April to all, and remember to carry an umbrella!
