Hudson County authorities are searching for suspects involved in a daring carjacking incident at a U-Haul moving and storage facility in North Bergen on Sunday afternoon.
Details are still emerging from this violent encounter, but preliminary investigations have shed light on the incident that unfolded.
Police were called to the scene at 6701 Tonnelle Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. following reports of an injured individual. Upon arrival, emergency services were promptly dispatched to attend to a person suffering from hand and back injuries.
The investigation revealed a startling sequence of events: approximately three masked assailants arrived in a U-Haul van, assaulted the victim, and then made off with a 10-foot box-style U-Haul truck, heading towards West Side Avenue.
Remarkably, no weapons were reported to have been used in the commission of this crime. The victim received immediate medical attention from EMS at the scene.
As the investigation continues, authorities are piecing together the details of this audacious theft, urging anyone with information to come forward.
