A severe collision on Route 4 in Paramus has resulted in multiple injuries, as reported by Bergen County authorities.The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday around 2:30 a.m., involved two vehicles in the westbound lanes, leading to significant disruptions and a prompt response from emergency services.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the vehicles entangled, with several occupants trapped within the wreckage.
Mutual aid and EMS support from neighboring municipalities, including Fair Lawn, were quickly mobilized to extricate the victims and rush them to nearby hospitals for urgent care.
Of the individuals involved, at least five suffered various injuries, with one reported to have sustained severe injuries.The crash necessitated the temporary closure of all lanes on Route 4, and the Paramus Police, supported by the Department of Transportation, investigated the cause of the collision.
As of now, the exact cause of the crash remains undetermined, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
The community was urged to seek alternative routes and allow for additional travel time as the investigation proceeded.
