In a tribute to Women's History Month, the Union County Board of County Commissioners has joined forces with the 102 Cavalry Family Readiness Group to organize a special care packing event aimed at supporting military women from our region currently serving overseas.This initiative is part of a month-long collection drive that has been passionately supported by local New Jersey State Representatives and Union College of Union County, NJ.
The care packing event, scheduled for March 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will take place at Union College of Union County, New Jersey, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, in the Cranford Campus - Richel Student Commons.
Volunteers, including Union County Chairwoman Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded, Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill of the New Jersey 11th Congressional District, Assemblywoman Linda S. Carter of the New Jersey 22nd Legislative District, and Dr. Margaret McMenamin, President of Union College, will come together to assemble care packages filled with essential wellness products and comforting treats.This event not only commemorates Women's History Month but also serves as a platform for the community to express their gratitude and support for the brave women who are representing our country overseas.
The organizers invite members of the public to join in this meaningful effort to embrace the spirit of generosity and camaraderie, making a tangible difference in the lives of our service members.
