Police in Newark has issued a request to help identify a suspect linked to a recent burglary at a local business in the Ironbound section. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 20th targeting the Pool Bar located on Elm Street.
According to reports, the suspect made his approach around 3:55 a.m., targeting the establishment's sidewalk cellar door.
Demonstrating a bold disregard for security, the individual managed to pry open the door using his hands and gained entry into the basement. Once inside, he navigated to a back room where a lock box was located.
The suspect successfully opened the lock box and extracted an estimated $400.00 before making a swift escape, last seen heading westbound on Elm Street.The Newark Police Department's detectives are leading the investigation and have called upon the community for assistance in identifying the suspect involved in this calculated burglary.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, dressed in a blue jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, accompanied by a black hat, black pants, and white sneakers.
The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information related to this incident or the suspect's identity to come forward.
