A shooting incident in Newark's South Ward resulted in property damage on Thursday afternoon. Police responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of West Runyon and Chadwick Avenue around 3:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but a vehicle in the vicinity sustained damage from stray bullets.
Police conducted a thorough search of the neighborhood, but the suspect had already fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the shooting and apprehend the individual responsible.
Meanwhile, residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
