Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced the arrest of Mr. Chelsey White, a 38-year-old Trenton resident, for the murder of Shawn Moore.The arrest resulted from a collaborative effort between the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department. White now faces charges of first-degree murder, along with several weapons-related offenses.
The incident that led to White's arrest occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on February 28, 2024, when Trenton police were called to the scene of a shooting at 428 Ardmore Avenue.
Upon arrival, they discovered Moore, 45, also from Trenton, unresponsive on a porch with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
White was apprehended on a Sunday evening in Branchburg, NJ, by members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.In light of the charges, the prosecutor's office has taken steps to ensure he remains detained pending his trial.
