Authorities announced that on March 7, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Detective Jeffrey Welsh observed a taxicab traveling on West Broadway in Haledon.According to officials, the vehicle failed to signal a turn
Upon initiating a motor vehicle stop, Mr. Angel Collado, a rear-seat passenger in the vehicle, displayed signs of being under the influence of Phencyclidine (PCP), a schedule II controlled dangerous substance, and was not wearing a seat belt, officials stated.
Officials said that during the encounter, it was discovered that Mr. Collado, 42, out of the city of Passaic was a wanted fugitive from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with additional warrants out of the City of Clifton and the Borough of Totowa.
Authorities say a container of suspected PCP was found in his possession, leading to additional criminal charges for possession of a controlled, dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of Haledon Public School.
Mr. Collado was also charged with being a Fugitive from Justice and ultimately lodged in County Jail, officials say.
