A man lost his life, and two others sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Jersey City Saturday morning.Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Jersey City Police Department, is currently investigating the violent event.
The incident unfolded just before 6:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from the Jersey City Police Department following reports of shots fired on Jordan Avenue. The crime scene, situated between Mercer Street and Vroom Street, quickly became the focal point of a significant law enforcement effort.
Three male victims were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center in a private vehicle following the incident.
Police said Mr. Christoph Terrero Marte, 33, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead approximately an hour later at 7:35 a.m.
The two other victims, a 28-year-old male from Union City and a 31-year-old male from Jersey City received medical treatment for injuries that, fortunately, were not deemed life-threatening.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, along with the Jersey City Police Department, is diligently working on the investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward.
