Residents in Newark and the surrounding North Jersey region are waking up to a drizzle after heavy rain drenched the area on Wednesday, causing challenging commutes and localized flooding.Despite the damp start, temperatures are relatively mild at 50 degrees, offering some relief from the recent downpour.
The weather is expected to remain overcast throughout the day, with mostly cloudy skies prevailing.
However, The National Weather Service said the bulk of the heavy rain has moved on, leaving behind a relatively calm Thursday.
There's a slight chance of rain, around 30 percent, mainly before 7 a.m. The high temperature is forecasted to reach around 52 degrees.
As the evening approaches, NWS forecasters said the clouds are expected to gradually clear, leading to a mostly clear night with a low of around 37 degrees.
This transition from cloudy to clearer skies offers a promising end to the day, setting the stage for a beautiful Friday ahead. However, on Saturday, we return to rain.
