Officials from the Harrison Police Department are actively investigating a shooting incident that took place in mid-January at a hotel, which resulted in two individuals sustaining gunshot wounds.Police said the situation unfolded on January 18th when the Newark Police Department informed Harrison authorities that two victims, a male, and a female, had arrived at St. Michaels Hospital in Newark with gunshot injuries.
The victims reported being shot in Harrison.
According to Harrison Police, further inquiries led the police to the Hampton Inn Hotel's parking lot in Harrison, which was identified as the crime scene of the incident.
Harrison Police units promptly arrived at the location, where detectives were able to process the scene and collect evidence relevant to the case.
The investigation is currently being led by the Harrison Police Department Detective Bureau, which has indicated that the shooting does not seem to be a random act.
While the police have provided an update on the situation, they have also stated that no additional details will be released at this time to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation.
