A confrontation on Monday morning resulted in a stabbing incident in the 100 block of 14th Avenue, as reported by Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:19 a.m., following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found a man who had sustained injuries from being sliced with a box cutter during an altercation with another individual.
The victim was quickly transported to University Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care and is listed in stable condition, Director Frage said.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation and subsequent stabbing.
As of now, details about what led to the incident or information regarding the suspect are scarce.
The Newark Police Department has not released any additional information but assures the public that the investigation is ongoing.
