The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating a deadly shooting incident that occurred in Newark’s West Ward today.
At around 11:25 a.m., Newark police were dispatched to the area of 384 South 8th Street near 15th Avenue following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The severely injured yet unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene, where several shell casings were also found, indicating the severity of the incident.
As of now, the suspect responsible for the shooting has fled the scene, and authorities are actively conducting investigations to apprehend the individual.
The community is urged to come forward with any details that might help bring justice to the victim and ensure the safety of Newark’s residents.
