Elizabeth Fire Department responded to a house fire at 117 Franklin Street early Tuesday morning.The call, coming in just before 2:45 a.m., brought firefighters to a scene where heavy flames were observed in the rear of a two-and-a-half-story wooden structure.
The team swiftly launched their operations, stretching multiple lines to douse the fierce blaze.
Their efforts paid off, successfully subduing the fire in under thirty minutes.
Tragically, one individual, located on the top floor amidst the chaos, suffered burns.
This victim was promptly transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for treatment. The severity of their injuries remains unreported at this time.
Fire officials were able to declare the fire under control shortly before 4 a.m., yet the cause of this incident is still under investigation, with authorities actively pursuing leads to determine its origin.
