Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, has announced the arrest of 42-year-old Dhkir Robinson in connection with a deadly hit-and-run collision in Nutley.
The incident, which occurred on February 14 shortly before 7 p.m., tragically claimed the life of one pedestrian and left another with serious injuries.
The collision took place on the 100 block of Milton Avenue, near the Garden State Parkway overpass.
Mr. Wiston Perlaza, a 22-year-old resident of Paterson, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Another pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
Robinson faces charges including Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, Operating a Motor Vehicle Resulting in Death With a Suspended License, and Endangering an Injured Victim.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office continues to actively investigate the case.
