Camden County officials are dealing with the aftermath of a devastating car crash that occurred in Cherry Hill early Sunday morning. The collision, which took place around 4 a.m. at the junction of NJ-38 and Cooper Landing Road, has left one driver dead and another person injured.
Preliminary information indicated that emergency services rushed to the scene following multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle that had violently crashed into a pole.
Upon their arrival, responders found a scene of destruction: a car had collided with such force that it severed the base of the pole, trapping two individuals inside.
Rescue teams worked hard to free the victims from the wreckage. Despite their efforts, one individual succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second occupant, suffering from injuries sustained in the accident, was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has been notified, but at this stage, their involvement in the investigation is yet to be confirmed.
