Newark Man Gets 55 Years for Fatally Shooting Teen in Irvington

A Newark man today was sentenced to 55 years in state prison, after a robbery in Irvington that turned fatal in 2012.

On Feb. 17, 2012,  Marquise Hawkins and accomplices were on the search for robbery victims in the area of Orange Avenue and Orange Place in Irvington.

The men soon after approached 16-year-old Khalil Williams, Krishna Nesbeth, Davon Arrington, and Naeem White. 

During the robbery, Williams was subsequently shot in the back. 

The earliest Hawkins could get out of prison is June 4, 2063.
