Authorities in Newark request the public's help with identifying the suspect in connection with a business burglary that occurred between Tuesday, February 6th, and Wednesday, February 7th, 2024.Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said police responded to a business located in the 300 block of Madison Avenue on a call of a burglary.
The business owner closed the business at approximately 7 p.m. on February 6th and returned at 6:44 a.m. on February 7th to find the establishment ransacked, officials said.
According to officials, the cash register, which contained $1,500.00, was emptied.
Detectives investigating this incident have determined that the suspect entered the business by pushing through the wall air conditioner and climbing in through the hole in the wall, officials said.
Authorities say the suspect is described as a light-skinned male with a stocky build, short hair, and a large beard.
He was wearing eyeglasses with tattoos on both of his forearms, officials say, and the tattoo on his left hand has stars running across his wrist.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
