My friend and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cooler morning, with temperatures dipping below freezing early at 4:30 a.m.The day mirrors yesterday's conditions, with a brisk and breezy start. Despite the chill, the area will enjoy clear, sunny skies throughout the day.
The National Weather Service said today's weather aligns closely with average temperatures for this time of year, offering a typical winter day.
The high is expected to be near 43 degrees, but the wind chill will make it feel colder, between 15 and 25 degrees. A north wind blowing at 9 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching up to 21 mph, will maintain the day's brisk feel.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the region can anticipate a gradual warm-up. Tonight, however, remains mostly clear, with a low of around 30 degrees. Wind chill values will linger between 25 and 30 degrees.
As you head out, don't forget to bundle up in a warm coat to comfortably navigate through the day's cooler temperatures.
