Hillside Police are investigating a shooting incident in the township early Sunday morning.
Around 1:40 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Virginia Street following reports of a person shot.
Upon their arrival, the police discovered an individual with a bullet wound to the leg. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.
Early indications from the police suggest that the shooting may have been accidental.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with authorities working to piece together the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting.
As of now, there have been no reports of other injuries related to this incident.
