Newark Police are looking into a shooting incident that occurred in the city's North Ward on Wednesday evening.Around 6:50 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Grafton Avenue and Chester Avenue following reports of gunshots in the area.
Upon their arrival, police units discovered shell casings at the scene, indicating recent gunfire. An extensive search of the neighborhood was conducted, but fortunately, no victims were found.
The Newark Shooting Response Team was quickly deployed to the location to provide specialized assistance in the investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Police urge anyone with knowledge about the shooting to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
