Early Sunday morning, Newark Police successfully apprehended two juveniles following a foot pursuit near Branch Brook Park in the city's North Ward.
The incident began around 2:15 a.m. when the suspects abandoned a stolen vehicle and fled on foot near the intersection of Lake Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
Officers promptly responded to the scene and initiated a search operation around the park.
The pursuit, which involved canvassing several streets, ended with the capture of the two assailants, both of whom were dressed in dark clothing.
The suspects were subsequently transported to the precinct for processing and no injuries were reported during the incident.
