In the Newark and North Jersey region, the day begins with a wet, gloomy, and cloudy backdrop, though residents can anticipate the showers to dissipate after sunrise, making way for a drier afternoon.Despite the clearing, The National Weather Service said rain continues to fall this morning, with the Hudson Valley experiencing the brunt of the downpours and scattered showers reaching across north and central New Jersey.
Communities, including Scotch Plains, Millburn, Edison, Old Bridge, and Middletown, are witnessing light to steady rain.
NWS meteorologists say the temperature remains on the warmer side for this time of year, ranging from the upper 30s to 42 degrees.For today, rain is expected mainly before 10 a.m., accompanied by areas of fog before 1 p.m.
With a high near 48 degrees and a northeast wind shifting to light and variable in the afternoon, the day's temperatures will hover around 10 degrees above average.
While the latter half of the day is set to remain cloudy, tomorrow promises mainly dry conditions, though rain may revisit the region soon.
