Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Union Police Director Christopher Donnelly have announced a heartbreaking incident that left a community in mourning.
Four members of the Alarcon family were found deceased in their home at 1329 Lincrest Terrace in Union yesterday morning, victims of an apparent murder-suicide.
Responding to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers from the Union County Sheriff's Department discovered the bodies of Ruben Alarcon, 51, Andrea Alarcon, 42, and their two juvenile daughters, each sustaining fatal gunshot wounds.
The subsequent investigation by the Union County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force and the Union Police Department unveiled a harrowing narrative, indicating that Andrea Alarcon took the lives of her husband and daughters before turning the gun on herself.
The murder weapon was found near her body upon the authorities' arrival.
Prosecutor Daniel, in a somber statement, acknowledged the profound sorrow of the situation, emphasizing that words fall short in the face of such a devastating event.
"Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of these victims and to the Union community as a whole in the wake of this horrible event," he said.Echoing the sentiments of profound loss and community impact, Director Donnelly highlighted the profound effect of the tragedy on the community, extending heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
He further addressed the community's grief and urged those struggling to seek available support, stressing the importance of not facing such challenging times alone.
