As Thursday morning greets us with a chill, residents find some relief knowing it's not as biting cold as Wednesday. However, the National Weather Service warns of déjà vu as another winter storm sets its sights on the region for Friday.
The impending storm threatens to blanket the Newark area with 1-3 inches of snow, reminiscent of Tuesday's conditions.
While a winter weather advisory is in effect for Friday's northern New Jersey storm, NWS officials urge locals to bundle up against the sub-freezing temperatures today.
The good news is that winds are expected to taper off this afternoon, slightly easing the cold's grip.Today's forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values will hover between 10 and 20, with a gentle southwest wind at 6 to 8 mph.
Tonight, NWS meteorologist said there's a 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 4 a.m., as the clouds persist and the temperature dips to around 26.
Residents are advised to dress warmly and prepare for the upcoming winter storm while finding moments to enjoy their day amid the chilly weather.
