Authorities have identified the man killed yesterday after falling down an elevator shaft while working at the former United Hospital shortly before 2:15 p.m.
The victim was identified as 51-year-old James Mahoney, a manager of Tricon Enterprises Inc.
The company who is based in Keyport, was recently contracted by the county to remove asbestos at that location.
According to authorities, Mahoney and his wife, who also works for the company, were in the building's second floor working when the man somehow fell down the shaft.
Emergency crews responded to the scene where Mahoney was pronounced dead.
