Authorities in Morris County announced that Nafis H. Wiggins, 25, of Newark, has been charged with two counts of Human Trafficking, two counts of Luring, five counts of Explicit Contact, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, one count of Possession of a CDS with Intent to Distribute, and one count of Possession of a CDS.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said between August 1 and September 28, 2023, Wiggins allegedly provided narcotics to two victims, ages 14 and 15, in exchange for favors involving explicit contact, recruiting, and luring the minors via text messages.
It is alleged that on several occasions, the defendant met with the victims at locations in Chatham Township and Chatham Borough and transported the victims in his vehicle to more secluded areas to engage in drug use and explicit contact, officials stated.
According to officials, at the time of his arrest on December 19, 2023, at Cougar Field in Chatham Township, Wiggins was found to be in possession of CDS.
The defendant was detained at the Morris County Correctional Facility after a detention hearing in accordance with the Criminal Justice Reform Act, officials said.
