FLOOD WATCH ALERT: Newark, North Jersey Braces for Impending Storm and Heavy Rains

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

As Newark and the North Jersey region gear up for another significant weather event, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch in anticipation of the storm expected tomorrow.

NinosCurrently, the area enjoys dry and calm conditions, but this is set to change come Tuesday.

The forecast predicts heavy rain, which, combined with existing snowpack in northern parts of the region, raises concerns about potential flooding.

Towns like Little Falls and Oakland, still recovering from December floods, are particularly vulnerable.

For today, the National Weather Service advises residents to make the most of the sunny skies, with highs around 41 degrees and wind chill values between 25 and 35.

Winds will be from the northwest at 6 to 9 mph. The evening will see partly cloudy skies with lows around 28 degrees and lighter winds.

Residents should prepare for the incoming wet weather, which is expected to bring heavy rain at times, extending into Wednesday and heightening the risk of flooding in already vulnerable areas.
