Newark Police officials are calling for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent shooting.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, around 4:40 p.m. at the 700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
Responding to a report of shots fired, officers arrived on the scene but did not find a victim.
However, they discovered three spent shell casings in the area.
Surveillance footage from nearby cameras revealed a male suspect firing a handgun at another male, who then fled westbound on Spruce Street.
Police said the armed suspect was seen fleeing northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
The Newark Police Department is urgently seeking help from the community to identify this suspect.
He was last seen wearing a black mask, blue jeans, a black jacket, and white sneakers.
