Jersey City Police are currently investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred on Monday, leaving two individuals injured.The first incident was reported at approximately 9:26 a.m. in the area of 52 Union Street. Responding to reports of gunfire, police officers discovered a male victim with severe bullet wounds to his chest and leg.
The injured individual was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center and is currently in critical condition.
Police initiated a search for a suspect who fled the scene in a silver 2004 Honda Accord. The vehicle, occupied by a black male suspect, was later found unoccupied around 11 a.m. near Arlington Avenue and Union Street.
The motive behind this shooting remains under active investigation.
The second shooting incident occurred shortly before 12:55 p.m. near 232 Claremont. Arriving units found another male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.Witnesses reported a black male suspect firing the shot before fleeing the scene on foot.
As of now, police have not confirmed any connection between the two shootings.
These incidents have heightened concerns in the community, with law enforcement working to uncover more details and apprehend the suspects involved.
