Early Monday morning, a serious pedestrian accident occurred in Somerville, leaving one person with severe injuries.
Authorities were alerted to the incident in the 200 block of US-202 around 1:40 a.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting a person down.
Upon arrival, police and emergency medical services discovered an unconscious individual who had suffered injuries from being struck by a car.
The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of now, the condition of the injured person has not been confirmed.
Somerset County authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this incident.
The area where the accident occurred underwent an extensive examination as investigators worked to piece together the events that led to this unfortunate event.
