Those planning outdoor activities or quick shopping trips should aim to complete them early, as the rain is expected to begin around 10:30 a.m., initially light but rapidly intensifying into the afternoon and evening, leading to a complete washout according to NWS radars.

As of 4:30 a.m., North Jersey is experiencing mild conditions, but this will change as the day progresses.

The NWS forecasts not just rain but also the possibility of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Some of these storms might produce heavy rainfall, with a high near 60 degrees.

My Friends and family in the Newark and North Jersey area should note that it's going to be breezy, with a south wind starting at 6 to 11 mph in the morning and increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon, with gusts possibly reaching as high as 32 mph.

NWS forecasters say the chance of precipitation stands at 100%, with new rainfall amounts anticipated to be between three-quarters and one inch.

Residents should be prepared for continued rainfall until midday Monday. The NWS urges everyone in New Jersey to exercise caution during this period of adverse weather conditions.

Be careful out there, and stay safe as the state endures this intense weather system.
