Newark and the North Jersey region are in for a pleasantly mild Saturday, offering a brief respite before a wet and windy Sunday rolls in.
According to The National Weather Service (NWS), the day starts with patchy fog before 8 a.m., gradually giving way to partly sunny skies.
The high for the day is expected to be near 55 degrees, with a light and variable wind turning southeast at around six mph in the morning.
However, NWS forecasters said the tranquility of today will be short-lived.
Starting after 4 a.m., there's a 40 percent chance of showers. The night will see a return of patchy fog after 1 a.m., leading to mostly cloudy conditions with a low of around 43 degrees. The humidity is high at 86%, and the wind will come from the northeast at six mph, with the barometer reading at 30.21 inches.
Residents should be prepared for a significant change on Sunday, especially by tomorrow night, as the weather takes a turn towards the messy side.
Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts for those planning to head out for shopping or other activities on this beautiful Saturday. Be safe, and have a wonderful day, courtesy of the RLS Metro Weekend crew.
