A tragic motor vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 280 West, near milepost 3.9 in Roseland Borough resulting in the death of a Highland Park resident.
The incident, which happened at approximately 9:25 a.m., involved a Toyota passenger vehicle and a Hino box truck.
According to preliminary investigations, the Toyota, driven by 29-year-old Andrew Hood of Highland Park, lost control and collided with the box truck.
Hood sustained serious injuries from the collision and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the medical facility.
The crash is currently under investigation by authorities, who have not released further details at this time.
