Newark, North Jersey Region Faces Bitter Cold Morning, Bundle Up!

Residents in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a bitterly cold morning, with temperatures recorded at a chilly 28 degrees as early as 4:30 a.m.

Today, the area is set to experience some of the coldest air of the season.

National Weather Service models predict a mostly sunny day with a high near 37 degrees, but with wind chill values lingering between 20 and 30 degrees, it's advisable to dress in extra layers if you're planning to head out early.

A southwest wind blowing at 7 to 9 mph will continue through the day.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be mostly cloudy initially, then gradually clearing up. Temperatures will drop to a low of around 29 degrees, accompanied by a gentle southwest wind of around seven mph.

The current humidity stands at 56%, with a wind speed of 14 mph and a barometer reading of 30.10 inches.

So, bundle up and stay warm as the region braces for a frigid day.
