Newark, North Jersey Region Braces for Rain, Chilly Weather

Newark and North Jersey residents are waking up to another chilly morning, with temperatures below freezing at 4:30 a.m. this Sunday.

The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of rain after 5 p.m., coupled with mostly cloudy skies.

The daytime high is expected to hover near 48 degrees, offering some respite from the early morning chill. Light and variable winds in the morning will shift southeast, reaching speeds of 5 to 10 mph.

As the evening sets in, rain is forecasted to dominate, primarily before 4 a.m.

According to The National Weather Service, the temperature is expected to drop to a low of around 43 degrees. Winds from the east at 8 to 13 mph will switch to the west post-midnight.

The chance of precipitation is pegged at 100%, with new rainfall amounts anticipated to be between a quarter and a half of an inch.

The start of the workweek in Newark will thus be marked by considerable humidity, currently at 79%, and mild northern winds at 3 mph.

The barometer reading stands at 30.31 in, indicating a wet and cloudy start to the week. Residents are advised to dress warmly and be prepared for wet conditions.
