Early risers in Newark and the North Jersey region are in for a chilly start to their Small Business Saturday shopping spree.
Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing, making it imperative to bundle up in a winter coat, don a warm hat, and even consider gloves to brave the cold.
The National Weather Center forecasts a day with mostly sunny skies but a high temperature of only around 41 degrees.
A gentle north wind of about five mph is anticipated, becoming calm as the morning progresses.
Saturday night won't bring much relief as temperatures are predicted to remain cold, with a low of around 31 degrees. The wind will be light and variable, adding to the chill in the air.
With humidity levels at 56 percent and a barometer reading of 30.37 inches, it's clear that this chilly weather is here to stay for the day.
