Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is reaching out to the public for assistance in locating Essence Spence-Jones, a 10-year-old resident of Newark, who was reported missing on November 21.
Essence was last seen at Belmont Runyon School around 8:45 a.m. on the day of her disappearance.
She had been dismissed from school at 2:45 p.m. The young girl is described as standing at 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds.
She has straight hair, typically worn in a ponytail. At the time of her disappearance, Essence was dressed in her school uniform, consisting of a yellow shirt and blue pants.
Essence was also wearing white Air Force One sneakers and had on an orange coat while carrying a black North Face book bag. Essence is known to frequent the areas around 157 Chadwick Avenue and 180 Ridgewood Avenue.
Fortunately, her mental well-being is reported to be in good condition.
Director Fragé is urging anyone who may have information about Essence Spence-Jones's whereabouts to contact the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
It's important to note that all anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential, and those providing information could potentially be eligible for a reward.
The community's cooperation and vigilance are crucial in helping ensure the safe return of Essence Spence-Jones to her family.
