According to Prosecutor Ciccone, on November 09, 2023, the Congregation Etz Chaim Jewish Center was marred by graffiti, sparking a sense of outrage and concern.
The incident prompted a swift response from the Monroe Police Department, which initiated a thorough investigation.
Today, on November 17, 2023, the Monroe Police Department announced the conclusion of its investigation into the distressing incident.
Their success was attributed to the unwavering support and cooperation of local residents and businesses, who contributed valuable information and assistance throughout the process.
Monroe Township Detectives were able to pinpoint and interview a 15-year-old juvenile believed to be responsible for the act of vandalism.
Crucially, authorities determined that the juvenile did not pose a threat to either the Jewish Community or the broader community. However, the investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and charges related to the act are pending review by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
