The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons and Human Trafficking Unit, in collaboration with the Vineland Police Department, have issued an urgent appeal to the public for assistance in locating 16-year-old Akera Johns and 1-year-old Hakeem Hintzen, both residents of Vineland.
The disappearance of Akera and Hakeem was first noticed on Saturday, November 11, around 3:00 pm, when they were last seen at the Cumberland Family Shelter on Mays Landing Road in Vineland. Authorities are working tirelessly to reunite them with their loved ones and ensure their safety.
State Police said Akera Johns is described as a 16-year-old black female, standing at 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds.
She has brown eyes and black hair, characteristics that may help in identifying her.
Hakeem Hintzen, the 1-year-old boy accompanying Akera, is described as a black male, 2 feet tall, and weighing approximately 35 pounds. Like Akera, he has brown eyes and black hair.
The well-being and safe return of this young child are of paramount importance.
It is believed that Akera and Hakeem may be en route to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area, adding urgency to the search efforts.
Law enforcement is urging anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of Akera Johns and Hakeem Hintzen to immediately contact the Vineland Police Department at (856) 696-1212.
