Thanks to a swift response from Montclair Police enforcement, the suspect was apprehended, and stolen checks were recovered, leading to criminal charges.
The incident happened on a seemingly ordinary day when a concerned resident on Bloomfield Avenue noticed an unfamiliar individual attempting to force entry into the vestibule of her apartment building.
Police said fearing for the security of her community, she promptly contacted local authorities to report the suspicious activity.
In response to the report, the description of the suspect was promptly broadcasted to responding police units.

Their efforts were successful when officers located the suspect at a nearby Popeye's restaurant. The apprehended individual was identified as 20-year-old Mr. Khalil Holland from East Orange.

In light of the evidence and the incident, Mr. Holland was taken into custody and subsequently charged with two criminal offenses: Criminal Trespass and Receiving Stolen Property.
