NWS: Rainy Start to the Day in Northern NJ, Clearing Up for a Pleasant Afternoon

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Early risers in northern New Jersey woke up to a rainy morning as showers moved through the Mahwah area and into New York State.

However, despite the wet start, the weather is expected to improve as the day progresses, offering a pleasant afternoon with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.

For my friends and family in the Newark area, there is a 30 percent chance of showers before 8 a.m., with cloudy skies expected through mid-morning.

AdLater in the day, gradual clearing is anticipated, and temperatures are forecasted to reach a high near 68. The southwest wind is expected to blow at 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

While today promises a more agreeable climate, residents should be prepared for a 10-degree temperature drop tomorrow.

Tuesday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 42, accompanied by a northwest wind of 9 to 11 mph.
