Early Sunday morning, Elizabeth police responded to reports of a motorcycle crash in the 400 block of Rahway Avenue.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement and emergency services.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered two individuals who had sustained severe injuries in the crash. Both victims were reportedly occupants of the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
In light of the severity of the injuries, emergency medical services were promptly called to the location.
The injured individuals were then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
To facilitate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, authorities closed the affected section of Rahway Avenue.
The precise cause of the accident is currently under scrutiny as the Elizabeth Police Department works to determine the events leading up to it.
